Urgent Hiring: Financial Reporting Officer Needed In Lagos

A financial reporting officer is urgently needed in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Role: Financial Reporting Officer

Grade: ABO - BO

Location: VI, Lagos 

Job Description:

The candidate will prepare and consolidate financial transaction statements for senior management review and ensure that reports, filings and documentation are complied with regulations, professional standards, and SEC and IFRS reporting guidelines.

He or she would assist the GH to Interpret, evaluate and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making for the bank

The ideal candidate will be identifying and implementing process improvements in the accounting systems.

 

He or she would be managing and analyzing budgets and creating financial forecasts.

The candidate would be doing environmental analysis of the competition and regulatory policies that affect the Bank. 

He or she would be liaising with key units - particularly risk management on capital adequacy & allocation and liquidity planning & analysis.

He or she would review, verify, and monitor operating expenses, deals and loans Income and monitor Expenses.

The candidate will be preparing monthly and annual Financial Statements, ensuring IFS compliance with respect to disclosure requirements. And he or she would be ensuring a timely and accurate reporting and filing to all regulators - CBN, NDIC, etc.

The candidate will be preparing and presenting accounting opinions on technical accounting matters.

 He or she would work with control functions to ascertain whether new trades/transactions can be properly supported from a Finance viewpoint.

He or she would be overseeing the statutory audit of the Bank and providing guidance on the strategic approach to driving income target/performance.

The candidate would liaise with IT to mine operations data from MIS, analyze and summarize information and trends for the preparation of financial and business performance reports.

He or she will be providing adequate supervision, coaching, and mentoring to junior team members.

Requirements:

Minimum of bachelor’s degree in finance/ Accounting or Business Administration and Management or related field. 

An MBA (or master’s degree) is an added advantage

Professional Qualification in ACCA, ACA, CFA, etc.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience in financial reporting or audit experience in a financial Institution or among the Big 4 Accounting firms.
